Ether-1 (ETHO) was launched on May 23, 2018 and is a fork of Ethereum implementing a decentralized hosting platform (ethoFS) using a community-owned node network combining blockchain indexing technology and the IPFS protocol to deliver decentralized content on-demand.
At its core, EthoFS is a decentralized website hosting platform, but provides much more. It utilizes the Ether-1 node network for storage and bandwidth, DDoS protection, censorship-resistance, and reliability. ETHO holders are able to deploy nodes by staking collateral and contributing resources to the network and in return these nodes share in data hosting revenue generated by the network.
The technological underpinnings of the ethoFS are comprised of blockchain technology, paired with smart contracts, masternodes and the InterPlanetary File System. While the Ether-1 Project works diligently to completely disrupt the nature of how files are stored & distributed on The Internet, we will also steadfastly focus on providing the same level of moxie to how the project functions on a holistic community level.
A vibrant community comprised of proven, passionate and professional individuals is the primary building block for new systems of self-governance that will be built into Ether-1. The goal of such systems is to provide decentralization on a human level by taking time-proven concepts such as separation of duties, democratic debate and fair elections into the next evolution of The Internet.
